Coolnovo

The trend for web browsers nowadays is simplicity and comfort. There are many other browsers out there, besides the well known Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera and others, but very few manage to meet our expectations. CoolNovo is based on the popular Google Chrome web browser, but it comes with many features of its own, which can improve your experience while surfing the web. All the functionality that Chrome has to offer is still there. In addition, you can find many more configuration options, a well made bookmarks manager, shortcuts for certain actions and much more.

CoolNovo is another web browser that's based on the same engine as the original Google Chrome and adds a bunch of handy new tools that make it even easier and more enjoyable to use.

The interface in CoolNovo is identical to Google Chrome, with the new features being mainly under the hood: close tabs by double clicking on them, browse the web with mouse gestures, open links by dragging and dropping them, open Internet Explorer tabs and have download managers embedded into the browser's context menu.

The new tools in CoolNovo certainly make web browsing more comfortable, but they also lack proper configuration options. Mouse gestures, for example, can't be tweaked at all.

The setup file is 26 Mb large. Like most web browsers, CoolNovo comes with its own installer, which only requires clicking a button. Besides clicking the Install button, there is nothing else that you need to do. The browser's components will be installed on your computer in a few seconds and you will be able to launch CoolNovo right away.

When you launch CoolNovo, you will notice that it is very similar to Google Chrome, from almost any point of view. Its tabs have the same design, it has similar menus, even its icon uses the same colors. Despite its similarities, it would be wrong to say that CoolNovo is nothing but a clone of Google Chrome. CoolNovo comes with its own useful tools and neat features which actually enhance the functionality of Chrome. 

Some of the features that CoolNovo provides are obvious, so you can spot them immediately. You can set up the same home page, with thumbnails for the most frequently visited sites, and manage your Chrome Web Store apps if you click an arrow, on the right side of the page. You can bring up a column, on the left side of the window, where you may organize your bookmarks in different folders. A series of small buttons are placed in the lower right corner of the window. You can use them to select a different theme for the browser, translate a web page, set CoolNovo to open links in the background or foreground, take screenshots, zoom in on a page or delete your browsing history. 

Another plus for CoolNovo is the fact that it features a rich settings menu. There are many more options categories than you would find on Chrome. You can adjust numerous aspects, including tabs, the bookmarks bar, privacy, shortcut keys, and many more. You will also discover that CoolNovo is capable of opening Internet Explorer tabs as well, but the most interesting feature is probably the possibility of performing various actions with mouse gestures. While holding down the right mouse button, you can move the pointer in a certain direction or on a certain path to close a tab or re-open it, scroll through the page and more. While performing one of these actions, the mouse cursor will actually draw a line. You may configure the gestures, according to your needs, on the browser's settings page.
